Today marks a big shift in how Barham’s Ozark Beef operates our bulk beef program (halves & wholes). Starting now, Beef Snobs will have two chances per year to order bulk beef – April and October. The new system allows our favorite rancher, Charlie Barham, to plan ahead and feed out an accurate number of calves each year. Although this is new to Barham’s Ozark Beef, most ranchers who sell bulk beef directly to the public operate in this way.
How does it work? Deposits are due four months in advance of your order. If you are signing up for the April 2026 round, your deposit is due by December 31, 2025 (great Christmas gift!). If your freezer is full and you won’t need more beef until October 2026, your deposit is due by June 30, 2026. For our Florida customers, you’ll want to sign up for the October round each year. Please keep in mind that deposits are non-refundable. The non-refundable deposit helps deter customers from backing out in the final hour after we’ve put in the effort and cost of feeding out a calf.
Delivery is available within a 250-mile radius of Conway, Arkansas. If delivery is requested, the amount will be added to your final invoice. The price for delivery is now $1.00 per mile. Those who work in the transportation world would tell you that $1.00/mile is WAY too low. The going rate, especially for a freezer trailer, would be well north of $2.00 per mile. We are excited you are doing business with us, so we are going to stick with $1.00 per mile!
