Sustainability in the world of agriculture remains top of mind for many. Barham’s Ozark Beef is proud to participate in the Sustainability Day celebration at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus. The Little Rock community is invited to participate from 10:00am – 2:00pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the Chi Omega Courtyard Plaza next to the Donaghey Student Center on campus. The day of celebration brings vendors from multiple industries together to showcase their efforts to create a healthy environment in their field.
At Barham’s Ozark Beef, one of our differentiating factors is how we source the sweet potatoes our herd enjoys eating so much. We partner with a local food plant that produces sweet potato casserole. Instead of the unused parts of the sweet potatoes going to the landfill, we pick up their “waste” and deliver it directly to our herd. The cows make great use of the healthy eating option. The sweet potatoes are a wonderful source of energy for the cows and help put on much needed fat. The results are fat and happy cows!
